Roshn renames 30,000-unit Riyadh residential project as Sedra

RIYADH, August 5, 2021

Roshn, a national community developer fully owned company by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), has announced that Roshn Riyadh, its first residential community in the capital featuring over 30,000 private homes, has been renamed as Sedra (Arabic for endurance).
 
The Sedra community is spread across an area of 20 million sq m and it is strategically located north of Riyadh, south of King Khalid Airport, also within close proximity to Princess Nourah University and behind of Riyadh Front close to key highways and public transportation to provide residents with a superior living experience.
 
The name Sedra is inspired by the indigenous tree that is widely found in the Saudi community. It is aligned with Roshn’s objective to create a community that promotes the preservation of nature and a sustainable lifestyle in line with Vision 2030.
 
Announcing the key project, Roshn said more than 4,500 homes will be built in Phase One of construction. 
 
The modern, integrated community will provide homes with different sizes and facades to cater to all residents. Homes will be made available ready to live in and will come with kitchens, split unit ACs, water heating systems, and LED light fixtures, among other amenities, it stated.
 
Group CEO David Grover said: "We are delighted to announce Sedra as the name of our first community, which is a significant and exciting step in the delivery of Roshn’s mandate to raise the rate of homeownership to 70% in the kingdom."

According to Grover, Sedra aspires to offer future homeowners the opportunity to secure high-quality homes in a flourishing community. 
 
The project has been designed using the Salmani architecture, a unique approach that fuses urban and traditional design to emphasis the Saudi rich culture and heritage, he explained.
 
It aims to inspire a strong sense of community spirit and genuine connection between residents, through a best-in-class services and facilities, including mosques, schools, healthcare, pedestrian, bike paths, cafes, restaurants, leisure and entertainment options, the community aims to source to the needs of future residents, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
