Veteran businessman and senior director of Bahrain-based Y B A Kanoo Group, Abdulrahman Jassim Kanoo died at the BDF Hospital yesterday. He was 75.

He was suffering from kidney problems and was on dialysis for some time. The funeral will be held at the Manama Cemetery, behind Kuwaiti Building, after noon prayers today at Al Fateh Mosque.

Condolences will be received at Kanoo Guest House in Mahooz today, tomorrow and on Sunday. Kanoo was the chairman of the Kanoo Property Company and was in-charge of the group's financial affairs.

He was also the president of Al Ahli Club for more than 25 years and was the founder of Abdulrahman Kanoo School, Salmabad.

A great philanthropist, Kanoo has donated to scores of charity projects and humanitarian activities in the kingdom.

He was a board member of Akhbar Al Khaleej newspaper.
