Prince Alwaleed is region’s wealthiest

Riyadh, November 28, 2007

Chairman of the Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud was ranked No 1 in Forbes magazine’s richest Middle East billionaires list.

The magazine also mentioned that Prince Alwaleed was the region’s wealthiest.

This ranking adds to an impressive list of recognitions that both Prince Alwaleed and KHC have received recently. Earlier this month, HRH won the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Saudi Arabian Economy’ title and it was also granted the ‘Best IPO of the Year’ award by the Institute for International Research (IIR), Middle East.

In June of this year Prince Alwaleed was named Saudi Arabia’s ‘Man of the Year’ by Arabian Business, during the Arabian Business Saudi Achievement Awards. Arab News voted KHC Saudi Arabia’s No 1 company for four consecutive years.

Arabian Business also voted KHC No 1 for the past three years in its Top 50 Most Admired Arab Companies rankings and voted Prince Alwaleed the No 1 in its list of 100 Most Powerful Arabs in the world.

Time magazine recently voted Prince Alwaleed as one of the Time100 Power givers for fostering a better understanding of Islam throughout the world. – TradeArabia News Service
