Dubai non-oil trade jumps 44pc

Dubai's non-oil foreign trade for the first nine months of the year rose 44.5 per cent to Dh705 billion ($192 billion) from Dh488.5 billion ($133 billion) over the same period last year, according to the Dubai World's Statistics Department report.

The top trading partners of Dubai were China, India, the US and Iran, the report was quoted in the Gulf News.

While direct trade for the period went up to Dh460.3 billion from Dh304.4 billion in 2007, imports surged 52 per cent, up from Dh215 billion to Dh326.6 billion.

Exports rose to Dh32.2 billion from Dh19.4 billion, while re-exports went up to Dh101.3 billion from Dh70 billion for the same period last year.
