Bahrain PM urges budgets rethink

The Bahrain Premier has urged ministries to strive for greater efficiency - and also re-tailor their budgets to the 2030 Vision.

While chairing yesterday's Cabinet session, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed the crucial role of effective government work in serving citizens.

Ministers also discussed the 2011 to 2014 budgets in the light of new plans and aspirations in housing, education, training, health and infrastructure sectors.

HRH the Premier directed ministries to re-submit their proposed budgets, committing to a financial strategy connecting the national economy's future path with Bahrain's 2030 Vision.

Priority must be given to projects and initiatives in the crucial sectors, he said.

HRH the Premier stressed the need for maintaining quality of services provided to citizens and urged the ministries to co-ordinate efforts.

He also called for supporting fishermen socially and professionally by providing them with facilities and shelters. In this regard, he directed the Interior Ministry to protect the fishermen's facilities at Halat Bu Maher.-TradeArabia News Service
