BCCI chief executive officer Ebrahim Ahmed Al Lengawi highlighted during the meeting with the council's Asian and African Division president Zhang Zhan, the importance of promoting international trade and investing in this visit which aims to achieve the desired outcomes for both countries.

Al Lengawi pointed out that the BCCI delegation has about 20 members representing various economic sectors in the kingdom and highlighted the importance of establishing partnerships between Bahraini business owners and their counterparts in China.

He also shed light on the attractive advantages and opportunities in the kingdom for foreign investors.

The forum will also examine a number of important issues that could lead to the development of relations and trade which would increase investment between the two countries, specifically in the natural resources sector.

Through enhancing economic co-operation and increasing trade between the two countries, this relationship could open new horizons for partnerships and the possibility of opening a representative office in Bahrain which will provide legal and economic information which has been developed by the Chinese authorities about foreign investors.

The forum will also trigger the co-operation agreement that has been signed to develop the Bahrain-China Joint Business Council.

It will discuss the mechanism for meetings to take place.

The forum will also discuss the mechanism for settling trade disputes, reviewing investment opportunities for joint promotion of economic co-operation and increasing the volume of bilateral trade in the areas of industry (iron, steel, textiles, glass and crystal).

It will also agree on a mechanism for the exchange of information between the chambers of commerce in the two countries.-TradeArabia News Service
