BCCI highlights its vision for Bahrain talks

Manama, July 3, 2011

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has published its vision for the National Dialogue.

Chairman Dr Essam Fakhro said the BCCI's views cover the four categories outlined by parliament and Dialogue chairman Khalifa Al Dhahrani – political, economic, social and legal

The BCCI's vision, agreed upon by its board members during a special meeting, focuses on economic issues in detail, he said.

Dr Fakhro said the vision focused on consolidating the relationship between public and private sectors and NGOs to create a sustainable partnership between them, strengthening the private sector's participation in the decision-making process, avoiding marginalising it and upgrading the quality of services provided for citizens.

Dr Fakhro expressed hope that the BCCI's views will help bring about a pioneering national project for Bahrain, its leadership and people, and promote security, stability and comprehensive development, asserting that the Dialogue is "a courageous historical solution" to the events that gripped the kingdom recently.

"Honourable Bahrainis, regardless of their religious beliefs or intellectual affiliations, are required to stand together to lay the foundation for a more promising future," he said, calling upon participants to prioritise national interests and be wise and rational in tackling issues.

Dr Fakhro also asserted that all demands and reforms should be achieved through legitimate channels guaranteed by the constitution. – TradeArabia News Service
