EDB launches Bahrain events eService

Manama, July 24, 2011

Bahrain’s Economic Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the eGovernment Authority, has launched Bahrain Events Calendar - a planner that helps search for activities like conferences and exhibitions.

The calendar aims to enhance joint co-ordination between government and non-government entities to set the right timeframes to organise events and activities to avoid conflict between concurrent events in terms of content or targeted audiences.

The new eService also contributes in highlighting the major role played by various public relations departments in introducing and promoting the strategic initiatives implemented by the government entities in line with the National Economic Strategy and Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.

The eService is available on the national eGoverment portal and can be accessed by logging on to the website.

The calendar enables people to view all events taking place in Bahrain. All public and private entities can register for this service and add their new events and will subsequently be notified about their request status through email and SMS. Such service is useful for the media. – TradeArabia News Service
