Manama, September 27, 2011
International investors will be in Bahrain next month to take part in a special forum, titled "Invest in Bahrain 2011" being organised by the Kingdom's Industry and Commerce Ministry.
This year's forum will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
It is also being supported by Tamkeen, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Federation of GCC Chambers.
The main aim of the forum, which takes place at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIEC) on October 19, is to attract foreign investment in Bahrain.
This year's event will feature presentations by Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro, BCCI chairman Dr Essam Fakhro and CBB officials as well as a welcome speech by HRH the Premier.
The speeches will focus on the history of successful investment in Bahrain and what the country currently has to offer potential investors. Contributors will highlight incentives offered to investors by the government, as well as role of local and Arab banks.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the event at the Industry and Commerce Ministry on Monday, officials revealed that leading investors and firms from Bahrain, the GCC and further afield had been invited to participate.
However, they pointed out that it was too early to say how many would take part.
They said that around 1,000 participants had attended the forum in 2010 and this year they hoped to attract more.-TradeArabia News Service
