100 students train at Batelco

Manama , September 19, 2007

Batelco, Bahrain's leading telecoms operator, has helped more than 1000 students to get 'on the job training' within various departments of the company this year.

Providing work experience opportunities is part of Batelco's social obligation to the community, said a spokesman.

The students, selected in collaboration with some of the kingdom's universities and institutes, have gained valuable experience in a variety of tasks assigned to them based on their level of qualification and area of study, said a Batelco executive.

The group included 47 students from the University of Bahrain, 31 from Bahrain Training Institute, 10 Ministry of Education trainees, 3 trainees from Bahrain Institute of Technology, 6 from overseas universities and 3 from other private universities in Bahrain.

'This programme offers the students the opportunity to work as industrial trainees while fulfilling their academic requirements,' said Batelco Human Resources & Government Relations general nanager Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa. -Trade Arabia News Service
