Etisalat backs e-learning programme

Abu Dhabi, November 22, 2007

Etisalat will be the technology partner of Tomouh, a programme for the training and development of UAE nationals.

The programme has been initiated by the Diwan of the deputy prime minister Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The programme was launched earlier this month in Fujairah and has now been extended for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

“Etisalat is proud to contribute towards Tomouh. We firmly believe in the importance of education and the responsibility that all corporations have towards supporting such initiatives to grow and develop our national workforce,” said vice-president, corporate communications, Etisalat, Ahmed Bin Ali.

Etisalat’s contribution towards this programme consists of e-learning programmes for 320 national students in Fujairah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. These include electronic courses in functional writing skills in both Arabic and English, measurement of personal skills, scientific thinking, customer service skills, executive management skills and public relations skills.

Etisalat has always played a key role in developmental initiatives for the UAE and to supporting Government initiatives. Contributing towards the success of ‘Tomouh’ comes under its community involvement strategy, which identifies and promotes programmes that benefit the community at large.

During the launch of Tomouh in Fujairah, Etisalat was presented with an award by Shaikh Saif bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi for its contribution and commitment towards the ‘Tomouh’ programme. – TradeArabia News Service
