DAE University to offer new degrees

Dubai, April 3, 2008

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) University has received UAE government’s accreditation for four master degree programmes.

DAE University, the education and training arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has received accreditation from the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for four Masters Degree programmes.

The courses, approved by Commission for Academic Accreditation of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, will equip students including working professionals to pursue promising careers in the aviation and aerospace industry, which is expected to create enormous demands for qualified personnel in the Gulf region and India by 2015.

'The regional aviation and aerospace sector is witnessing a tremendous growth. Over $27 billion is being invested in airport projects, while 2,000 aircraft are to be delivered over the next two decades,” said DAE Group Managing Director Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman.

“This complements the growth in passenger traffic projected at an average eight per cent annually. All these translate to increased employment opportunities in this highly-rewarding sector, which is currently growing at an impressive seven per cent each year and expected to double by 2015, he said.

“DAE University is fully equipped to meet this demand through its array of internationally recognized educational programs, and also positions Dubai as the hub for world-class aviation education,' he added.

The four programs – MBA in Aerospace Management, MSc in Global Logistics, MSc in Operations & Airline Management and MSc in Air Transport Management – will commence from September 2008.

The MBA programme will be offered in both full-time and part-time formats while the other three are offered as part-time courses to enable industry professionals to take advantage of the world-class learning offered in Dubai – the hub for regional aviation and aerospace sector.

'With the accreditation of the four Masters programs – specifically tailored to meet industry demand – DAE University is assuring global standards in higher education. Apart from contributing to the industry's qualitative growth, DAE University is also opening doors for students and industry professionals to attractive placements and career advancement internationally,' said DAE Group Chief Executive Officer Bob Johnson.

DAE University currently offers bachelors programmes in Flight and Aviation Management and Business Administration. Two additional bachelors programmes in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering are pending accreditation, the university said. – TradeArabia News Service
