Al Ghurair signs MoU with German varsity

Dubai, March 5, 2009

Al Ghurair University of Dubai (AGU) has signed an MoU with the University of Applied Sciences of Nordhausen (UASN), Germany, for exploring areas of mutual interest in teaching and research.

The MoU was signed by professor Lawrence Loh, vice president for academic affairs AGU, and professor Dr Joerg Wagner, president Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.

'This initiative is part of our efforts to diversify and broaden the university’s education portfolio,' said professor Lawrence Loh.

According to Professor Lawrence the MoU will benefit both the institutions due to an envisioned exchange program between students and faculty of UASN and AGU.

Both the institutions will also expand activities of mutual interest such as holding international conferences and developing collaborative research and consultancy.

'The curriculum of UASN is designed to impart practical qualifications and competencies in addition to classic theory to students,' added professor Dr Joerg Wagner.

'We offer a well rounded international educational experience encompassing local perspectives in learning, research and application, and we are glad to find in AGU an institution with a matching portfolio.'-TradeArabia News Service
