Saudi fund joins G20 entrepreneur summit

Toronto, June 20, 2010

Delegates from Saudi Arabia’s The Centennial Fund will take part in the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit, which opens today (June 20) in Canada.

The summit, recognised by the Canadian government as an official G20 event, is hosted by the Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF).

Entrepreneurs, academics, government officials and youth entrepreneurship organisations from G20 nations will come together in Toronto to discuss how to harness the potential of young entrepreneurs worldwide at the summit, which will run till June 22.

The recommendations resulting from the summit will be the focus of a discussion about entrepreneurship at the G20 Business Summit (B20) taking place in Toronto on June 25 and 26 and attended by two senior business leaders from G20 countries.

This summit builds on the success of the inaugural G-8 Young Business Leaders Summit held in Stresa, Italy in 2009.

“The future of youth entrepreneurship is an issue of tremendous importance for the G20 nations and the encouragement and promotion of youth enterprise will help the global economy to move beyond the recovery phase and into job creation,” says Vivian Prokop, chief executive officer of CYBF and chair of the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit. “We are excited to host over 200 delegates, and to provide a voice for young entrepreneurs and the audience to hear it.”

The Centennial Fund is a Saudi Arabian charity established in July 2004 with a royal charter to help young Saudi men and women achieve financial independence through helping them start their own commercially successful businesses.

The fund’s mission is to enable young Saudi men and women through mentoring, facilitating and financing to start their own businesses thereby transforming them from job seekers to job providers and helping them achieve financial independence. – TradeArabia News Service
