Saudi businessman backs SAE students

Dubai, October 12, 2010

A total of 40 students from SAE Institute Dubai, a leading private college offering training in media studies, have received funding support from a prominent Saudi Arabian businessman to further their studies.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Rajhi has been a patron and supporter of SAE Institute Dubai since its opening in 2006 and recognises the importance of creative media studies for the next generation, a statement said.

He is a regular visitor to SAE Institute Dubai and plans to re-visit the Knowledge Village campus again soon this year, to meet his latest cohort of sponsored students and assess their progress first hand.

'I cannot emphasize enough the importance of quality training in the rapidly emerging area of creative media and associated technologies,” said Sheikh Al Rajhi.

“In order to succeed these days we all must understand and embrace this increasingly digital world. Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I am able to support regional youth by providing them the opportunity to access into the unrivalled education that SAE offers.”

“There is a great need for high quality digital media education in this region, and we must help educate a local workforce that is capable of mastering these new platforms in order to position this region as a media leader for the future,” he added.

“Without a sophisticated level of education & training from creative media experts such as SAE, the development of the industry is impossible,” Sheikh Al Rajhi concluded.

Predrag Toncev, campus manager SAE Dubai, said: “Sheikh Al Rajhi has great foresight and shares SAE’s vision for the creative media industry in the Mena region.”

“He has supported SAE Dubai from the beginning and we deeply appreciate his ongoing commitment to our school and our students and we look forward to continuing the relationship well into the future,” Toncev added.

The group of 40 students will further their studies in audio engineering, 3D animation, digital film making, multimedia and digital journalism, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
