Baraem TV launches new programme for kids

Doha, January 30, 2011

Baraem TV, the first Arab pre-school TV channel and member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF), said it has launched an array of entertaining programming for its young audience.

The launch of the new grid coincides with Baraem’s second anniversary, said a company statement.

The new exciting line-up on Baraem TV that will delight mothers and children across the Arab world includes the high definition CGI animated series “Everything’s Rosie” (26x11’), a co-production between Al Jazeera children’s Channel (JCC) and UK-based V&S Entertainment with contribution from CBeebies, the BBC's pre-school children's channel.

"Everything’s Rosie” has captured the interest of the international market, selling to 146 countries worldwide and airing in different languages; JCC and V&S are currently in production of season 2 and 3 in both Arabic and English, the statement noted.

"This distinguished animation series follows Rosie and her group of loyal friends as they embark on a journey of fun and discovery while learning important values, social skills and life lessons. Packed with humour, fun and a real sense of adventure, the series explores the value of friendship."

The new programme line-up on Baraem TV also features the successful series “Captain Karim Qitar Al Hekayat”; this unique programme combines animation with live-action to introduce pre-schoolers to the wonderful world of storytelling and reading.

Baraem TV said it has increased its in-house productions to present new seasons of its popular shows: “Ahla Sabah” with host “Iman”, her old friends and her new puppet friend “Nasheet” continue to bring joy to pre-schoolers as they wake up.

In the afternoon, “Rania” and her companions the puppets “Noun” and “Zahi” introduce new numbers, shapes and the alphabet through songs, activities, games and stories in “Hourouf Wa Roussoum”.

At bedtime, “Nam El Qamar” with story-teller “Layal” and her friend “moon” continues to help mothers soothe their tired children with bedtime stories that transport them into a world of fantasy and imagination, the statement said.-TradeArabia News Service
