Application deadline for scholarships
Manama, December 20, 2011
Bahrain’s Crown Prince's International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) announced that the dates for submitting applications for 2013 scholarships will be from February 19 to March 1 next year.
This came during presentations on the application process for secondary school students eligible for 2013 scholarships.
CPISP acting director Dr Cynthia Gessling gave presentations at the Education Ministry hall, Isa Town, for secondary students who met application criteria.
She said applying for 2013 scholarships was a two-step process that involved submitting an application between February 19 and March 1, followed by taking a qualifying English language test on March 10 at the Khawla Secondary School for Girls.
Based on their GPAs and test results, 60 students will be chosen for 10 scholarships. They will include 40 from government and 20 from private schools, she said.
The 60 candidates will undergo training and attend seminars upon their selection in March, which will run through the summer and the following academic year.
Applicants must be Bahraini, in the 11th grade or set to graduate from secondary school in 2013, and have a cumulative GPA of 97 per cent or above for grade 10 and the first semester of grade 11.
