University of Dubai in California tieup

Dubai, January 24, 2012

The University of Dubai said it has signed a MoU with California State University to promote international opportunities for both universities’ students and faculty.

The MoU, which will be effective for five years, outlines several ways the universities will mutually benefit from an international relationship.

The universities will explore a range of learning opportunities such as the exchange of students, faculty and scholars, collaborative research projects and academic programs and the exchange of library resources and research material.

“We always welcome opportunities to expand our global network and collaborate with other esteemed institutions of higher education,” the university president Dr Omar Hefni said.

“By collaborating with CSU Fullerton, we open one more avenue to enhancing our business and computing education and gain the international insights that we value so much here at UD.”

The California university holds the same AACSB accreditation as Dubai, putting them both in an elite group in which only 5 per cent of business schools are members worldwide and ensures a high standard in education.

California university has over 36,000 students majoring in 55 different undergraduate degrees, 50 graduate degrees and one doctorate degree. Its college of business is the largest in California.

The University of Dubai welcomes students from abroad and at home – the admission period for new students to apply is currently open and runs until March 1.-TradeArabia News Service
