DIAC ties up with business contest

Dubai, December 19, 2013

Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) has entered into a deal with the UAE Management Challenge, a leading strategy and management competition.

Ibrahim Moosa Jamel, director of operations, Education Cluster of Tecom Investments, said: “We support education in all its forms and look forward to seeing students and corporates gain knowledge.”

“The competition is a great platform not only to enhance education but for students and corporates to network,” added Ibrahim.

The challenge consists of a management simulation in which teams of three to five people, comprising university students and corporates, are given complete control of a virtual company with the objective of obtaining the highest investment performance for its shareholders.

Competitors analyse financial and economic indicators, expand their views on corporate strategy, interact with functional areas of a company, and gain an in-depth understanding of the market conditions in which their companies compete.

The challenge was officially launched in September this year and encourages both professionals and students to participate with a special track for UAE nationals currently under review.

The winning team or ‘UAE Champion’ will then compete with counterparts from several countries for the world championship title to be held in Sochi, Russia, in April. - TradeArabia News Service
