29 student teams present business projects
Manama, February 18, 2014
As many as 29 student teams presented their business projects as part of the Bahrain labour fund Tamkeen’s next phase of the ‘A9eel in School’ programme, in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
The jury comprised representatives of Tamkeen and the Ministry of Education, said a statement.
Ten of the teams were selected to participate in a student exhibition that will be held in Seef Mall on February 20.
It will be followed by a ceremony to award the three finalist teams, who will be recognised based on the public and judging committee votes.
The “A9eel in School” programme, which was first launched in 2010, comes in line with Tamkeen’s and the Ministry of Education’s objectives to develop positive attitudes and practices and instil basic work ethics among Bahraini youth to prepare them for the labour market.
The programme covers a 12-unit module during every academic semester to prepare students for the final competition, in which the best project on a predetermined theme is selected. This year’s projects focuses on a marketing plan reflecting A9eel principles.
Amal Al Kooheji, Tamkeen’s Vice President for Human Capital Development, said: “A9eel in School is one of the main programmes that Tamkeen offers to unleash the potential of youth and promote entrepreneurship among them.
“It is an integrated programme explaining to students how businesses and commercial transactions in Bahrain are managed. It helps create the future leaders who will play a key role in developing the national economy." - TradeArabia News Service
