Saudi school heads to receive training in Singapore
Riyadh, April 20, 2014
The National Institute of Education (NIE), a top academic institution in Singapore, plans to train 3,000 Saudi school principals over the next few years, a report said.
NIE signed a memorandum of understanding last year with Tatweer Education Holding to promote school leadership development in Saudi Arabia, according to the report in Arab News.
“We are confident that Saudi principals will be able to impart the lessons learned to their colleagues here in the Kingdom,” Singapore’s Ambassador Lawrence Anderson was quoted as saying in the report.
“We are involved in education within the Kingdom. NIE has been working with prominent Saudi institutions. Ranked second in Asia and 13th in the world, NIE is responsible for the training of schoolteachers in Singapore,” explained Anderson.
