Tamkeen's revamped enterprise scheme in focus

MANAMA, October 26, 2014

The newly-revamped Enterprise Support Programme re-launched by Tamkeen, Bahrain’s labour fund, was in the focus at the fourth 'Startup Mornings' meeting yesterday (October 25), a report said.

Startup Bahrain organised the event which is the kingdom's favourite meeting point for entrepreneurs, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

At the event, Tamkeen representatives were guest speakers detailing, discussing and answering questions on Tamkeen's Enterprise Support Programme.

Tamkeen relaunched the programme last month focusing on delivery of quality support rather than quantity, streamlining application processes and better evaluation for more strategic support for businesses.

Startup Mornings meeting was held at the Bahrain Business and Professional Women Club, in partnership with Tamkeen, Zain Bahrain and Bahrain Development Bank, and was attended by more than 50 startups, entrepreneurs and members of the community.

Tamkeen' senior manager for private sector support department Qusay Al Arrayedh said through the Enterprise Support Programme, we strive to encourage a culture of sound management in the kingdom, which recommends the importance of setting goals and developing future plans for establishments, given the importance of that in the success of enterprises.

"We look forward to working as partners and serving Bahraini enterprises and to contribute to the achievement of their business goals and to achieving more success in the market.

"Our fourth Startup Morning was a great success. Having the chance to communicate with your service providers can be a great deal of influence on your business and where it could be heading," said founder of Startup Bahrain and Startup Mornings Ahmed Al Sawafiri.

"Sometimes, having all your questions answered can be challenging, which is why we wanted to take this opportunity during this event to help our community better understand the services and products available for them and their businesses."

Startup Mornings is a free-to-attend, monthly get-together for startups and entrepreneurs aiming to host the exchange of ideas, inspire others and recount failures. The event's participants will also be in the company of a guest speaker, over breakfast and coffee in a casual, 'be-yourself' environment. – TradeArabia News Service
