NBAD recruits 118 Emiratis under new initiative

ABU DHABI, November 24, 2014

National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) has recruited as many as 118 UAE nationals to serve the bank’s clients in its branches and offices across the UAE.

The recruitment was part of the ‘Falkom Tayeb’ initiative, launched under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saif Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, NBAD board member, chairman of Human Resources Committee and chairman of Strategy and Transformation Committee,  and is a continuation of NBAD’s Emiratisation programmes, said a statement.

The new Emiratisation initiative, which was launched in co-operation with Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council (ADTC), reflects the bank’s commitment to the UAE leadership’s vision of Emiratisation, it said.
It is aimed at nurturing the talent of young UAE nationals and help them develop into future leaders for NBAD and the nation.

“I am proud to see NBAD continues the vision laid-out by our wise leaders and which has brought our great nation to where it is today. By providing our young UAE nationals the opportunity, skills and guidance, we can ensure that they successfully fulfill their roles as future leaders in the social and economic development of our country,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

The new recruits are either fresh to the labour market or have three years of non-banking experience and have passed a training programme to qualify for work in the banking industry, said the statement.

Abdulla Al Otaiba, senior managing director and group head of Global Retail and Commercial at NBAD, said: “We are honoured to contribute to this initiative, which focuses on developing young Emiratis and aims to increase their participation in the private sector.

“I am proud to see NBAD as an integral part of the UAE, and play a fundamental role in its future. As UAE Nationals, it is our pleasure and duty to pass on our knowledge to future generations, and, as our 43rd National Day approaches, to help them take their first steps into the professional world.”

The new-hires have raised Emiratisation ratio across NBAD from 33 per cent to 35 per cent and from 37 per cent to 41.3 per cent at Retail and Commercial Banking, the statement added. - TradeArabia News Service
