Dubai Airport's mobile website

Dubai Airports launches online recruitment platform

DUBAI
, December 18, 2014

Dubai Airports (DA), the operator of Dubai International and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central, has teamed up with Cazar, a leading recruitment solution provider and employer branding firm in the Middle East, to launch its new career website to power their online candidate journey.

Dubai Airports recently announced a $32 billion expansion to build the world’s biggest airport that will serve as a global gateway for an expected 200 million passengers annually by the end of the next decade.

These plans, in which recruitment is a strategic part, have fuelled the launch of DA’s new bespoke mobile-responsive career portal, said a statement.

Dubai International is a major contributor to the local economy. Dubai’s aviation sector supports 416,500 jobs, contributing $26.7 billion to the gross domestic product (GDP) - around 21 per cent of total employment in Dubai, and 27 per cent of Dubai’s GDP, according to a study conducted by Oxford Economics in 2013-14.

With the expansion plans underway, by 2020 aviation supported employment numbers will grow to more than 750,000 jobs and the sector will contribute $53.1 billion or 37.5 per cent of the emirate’s GDP.

Meanwhile, with passenger traffic increasing by 15 per cent year-on-year at Dubai International, a scalable talent solution that can handle both current and future talent requirements was vital.

Meshari Al Bannai, vice president of Human Resources at Dubai Airports, said: “You can only build the best if you work with the best. Our focus is clear - attract top Emirati and global talent. Our growth and success cannot be achieved without the right people. DA’s career website and platform is instrumental in achieving this.”

Prior to the recruitment platform, DA’s hiring was done traditionally. Now the entire process is online and mobile – from the application, to scheduling interviews and onboarding new hires.

“Today smart phones, tablets and social media are a way of life for candidates. They are always connected and mobile. As an innovative employer of choice, we felt it was essential to have a fully mobile responsive career site so anyone, anywhere can apply from any platform or device and have a great user experience,” said Al Bannai. - TradeArabia News Service
