Al Eman School wins top honours in Injaz Bahrain contest

MANAMA, April 29, 2015

Al Eman Girls Private School has won first place in Injaz Bahrain's 'Company of the Year Competition' for their student company '3 Dots’.

The winner was announced during an event at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa that concluded yesterday (April 28), said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

'Interactive Education' from The Bahrain Bayan School, and 'Noor' from Ahmed Al Omran Boys School were placed second and third respectively.

Injaz Bahrain executive director Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa gave away awards to the winners.

“Over the one year of the competition, the students showed dedication, devotion and passion towards their business ideas,” she said.

“Their ideas were not only innovative, but also demonstrated strategic thinking and a commitment towards creating goods and services that offer real added value to customers.

“We are immensely proud of our student teams and thankful to the Education Ministry, GPIC and our strategic partners and volunteers for making this year's competition the best one yet.

“This competition forms an excellent platform for students to explore team and leadership values,” she said.

“It forms a stepping stone for entering the business market and assists students in building relationships, instils new ideas and thinking, creates a collaborative atmosphere between participating teams, and gives students the opportunity to learn more about assuming responsibility, striving for excellence as well as achieving personal and professional success,” she added.

As part of the programme, students started and managed their own businesses with support from a volunteer from the local business community where the students create and market their own products to realise profit for their shareholders.

The finalists showcased their enterprise and business acumen before a panel of independent judges who evaluated each company's performance against the competition criteria.

The two-day event saw student teams aged 17-21 from institutions across Bahrain showcasing their entrepreneurial achievements.

Overall, 11 teams competed in the competition, including six from secondary government schools, three teams from private schools, a team from the Gifted Centre, and another team from Youth City.

As the winner of the local competition, the team from Al Eman Girls Private School will go on to represent Bahrain at the regional Injaz Al Arab competition to be held in Oman in December. - TradeArabia News Service
