MUSCAT, OMAN, December 13, 2015

The Omani Ministry of Education and Microsoft today have announced the launch of Windows 10 for public schools, after a pilot project which saw successful migration to the latest Windows platform.

Under this initiative, all public schools in Oman will eventually receive the Windows 10 solutions, devices and Office 2016 upgrades.

Commenting on the initiative, undersecretary for education and curricula, Dr Hamoud Bin Khalfan Bin Mohammed Al Harthy, said: “We have monitored the progress of the pilot school that has already migrated to Windows 10 and are very pleased with the outcome. We look forward to upgrading the systems and devices in our schools for the benefit of our students.”

He also lauded Microsoft for all its efforts in transforming the education industry in Oman through the adoption of latest technologies in the education and learning processes.

Samer Abu-Ltaif, regional general manager of Microsoft Gulf said that the Windows 10 platform empowers educators to create teaching environments that nurture students’ passions and enable them to achieve the greatest heights.

“We are keen to help educators and students create and share in entirely new ways. By giving educators the flexibility to teach their students, track progress and instantly adjust, we enable students to learn in a way that suits them and makes learning more personal and productive,” he added. -TradeArabia News Service
