Microsoft, Azure to empower IT professionals on cloud

DUBAI, January 27, 2016

Microsoft Gulf has organised a training series on Azure to support efforts of enabling companies to harness the cloud and achieve more with less using the latest technologies, as part of its Azure Gulf Training programme.

It is part of the company's mission of empowering every individual and organisation on the planet, said a statement.

The readiness is a combination of online and hands-on sessions for professionals to learn the fundamentals of cloud for addressing business challenges to help modernise their main business functions while being cost efficient, it said.

Azure Gulf Professional is a series of courses that builds from the fundamentals of Azure and the problems it can solve for any company ranging from individuals and start-ups through small business to multinationals and Fortune 500 companies.

The material will educate IT professionals on Azure implementation and cover important areas necessary to start harnessing the cloud, said the statement.

A special focus will be key ‘hero scenarios’ that provide significant benefits to companies, these include websites, backup/recovery and disaster recovery, along with test and development.

The attendees will learn how to develop new technology strategies for their organization by using Microsoft Azure.

The training will also take the participants from a beginner level and advance towards the deployment of virtual machines and the value they offer, then onwards to cover the ‘hero scenarios.’

In addition to the ‘hero scenarios’ the material will lead towards handling advanced capabilities with techniques such as machine learning, advanced analytics, as well as embracing IoT with the ‘Internet of your things.’

Meanwhile, Microsoft will also continue to host Azure IT training camps across the gulf countries including UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.

The IT camps will enlighten IT and Infrastructure professionals to explore cloud solutions with their existing datacentres and improve data centre flexibility by deploying new technologies.

They can now join Microsoft experts to learn more about enhancing performance in the cloud with varying workloads; using Azure Site Recovery to leverage cloud solutions for greater reliability of data and disaster recovery; enabling faster and better deployment of data with Azure Resource Manager Templates; designing storage infrastructure for performance improvement and enhanced security; and gaining secure data solutions with the help of Azure Active directories.

There are online resources available that the attendees can utilise to extract the maximum possible benefit from this IT camp, said the statement.
