Getex 2016 opens in Dubai

DUBAI, April 13, 2016

The Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (Getex), the leading student recruitment platform in the Middle East and Asia, opened in Dubai, UAE today (April 13) offering visitors over 2,500 academic and training course options.

Running until April 15 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Getex 2016 was inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.

The event is expected to draw an audience of over 30,000 visitors and caters to students across all age groups.

Aside from the usual focus of academic programmes, the ongoing edition of Getex sheds light on occupational and applied education, professional development and training. Getex’s interactive platform enables admissions officers and career counsellors to better assist prospective students about diverse study programs, the benefits of various professions, and details about the chosen destination of study.

“Over the past few years, Getex has proven itself as a strong impetus for national efforts that are aimed at investing in the potential of human capital through the opening of new prospects for the students to know about the latest academic, educational and training programs that will keep them at pace with the demands and requirements of the labour market in the 21st century,” said Sheikh Al Nahyan.

“We call on everyone to take advantage of the rapid developments taking place in the education sector in order to build knowledge and upgrade potentials that are in line with the aspirations of our wise leadership for rehabilitating a generation that is distinguished by knowledge and innovation—leading them on to the march towards comprehensive development in the future.”

Anselm Godinho, managing director, International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E), the organisers of Getex, said: “Getex 2016 opened today to guide and inform students from the region about the latest trends in education across the board, in order to improve their employability over the long run."

"Over 300 leading exhibitors will comprehensively address queries of students and parents through one-on-one meetings. Over the next two days, we anticipate a high turnout of visitors who are eager to pursue higher education, which will also benefit the education providers who can convert enquiries into enrolments through on-the-spot applications," he added. – TradeArabia News Service
