Alstom extends anti-bribery certification to MEA region

DUBAI, June 10, 2019

Global technology giant Alstom said it has obtained local certification for its countries of operation in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, following an audit campaign carried out from September to December 2018, at its sites in France, Turkey and Morocco.

The audits, conducted by Afnor Certification, focused on the verification of the systematic
implementation and application of Alstom's anti-bribery system, according to the standard
ISO 37001, and in particular its Ethics and Compliance policy - the Group's Code of Ethics issued
to all its employees since 2001 - and the various instructions relating to existing anticorruption procedures and numerous associated training tools, said a statement from Alstom.

This MEA certification comes for Alstom after it became the first French company to obtain the AFAQ ISO 37001 certification for France and Europe in 2017, it stated.

It means that Alstom is now certified to the standard in every territory in which it operates, said the statement.

The international standard ISO 37001, introduced in October 2016, advocates a series of
measures to help organisations of all sizes, both private and public, to prevent, detect and
tackle bribery through the implementation of an anti-bribery management system, it added.

“We are very pleased to obtain this new certification in the MEA region, demonstrating our
capacity to prevent the corruption risk by setting a preventive and regulatory compliance tool," remarked Didier Pfleger, the senior vice-president for MEA region.

"To commit to this approach is a strategic challenge for a better enterprise management risk.
In addition to its strategic dimension, the ISO 37001 certification is also a competitive
advantage: this standard will be perceived as a positive criteria for our customers, partners
and stakeholders and for their trust in their collaboration with Alstom," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
