GMU to offer scholarships to Palestinian students

DUBAI, June 22, 2019

Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, a leading medical university in the region, has signed a deal with the Palestinian Consulate in Dubai to extend merit-based scholarships to Palestinian students in the UAE and GCC. 
As per the agreement, GMU will offer scholarships for Palestinians who fulfill the university’s scholarship criteria. The agreement also envisions academic cooperation between both parties.  
"GMU values meritorious students, and our mission is to shape the future of healthcare. We believe that affordability should not be a hurdle to learning; in this Year of Tolerance and as a part of GMU strategic initiatives we offer scholarships to bright students from various nationalities," remarked Prof Hossam Hamdy after signing the MoU with Youssef Al-Najjar – Deputy Consul General.
"Nurturing local talent for the UAE and the other countries of the region is important for the growth of the region’s healthcare sector," he stated.
Located in Thumbay Medicity, GMU boasts a diverse student cohort of 80+ nationalities, and staff/faculty from 30 countries, said the statement from the university.
