More professionals to search for job during Ramadan

DUBAI, May 4, 2020

More than 8 in 10 professionals in the region plan to spend time for finding a job during Ramadan, says Bayt.com, the Middle East’s top job site, which has just released its annual ‘Ramadan in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll. 
 
According to the poll, 29% of Mena professionals agree that they feel more productive during Ramadan. 60% of respondents said their productivity doesn’t change during Ramadan, and only 11% said they become less productive.
 
Although 39% of Mena respondents agree that their workload increases during the holy month, 23% of respondents said their workload stays the same during Ramadan, while 30% of respondents said it decreases.
 
The majority of respondents (73%) across the region are satisfied with the support they receive from their managers, 16% of respondents are neutral towards this aspect, while only 11% report being dissatisfied. Moreover, most Mena companies make special adjustments during the holy month of Ramadan including offering flexible work arrangement and accommodating lower productivity/ leniency with deadlines.
 
“Ramadan is a great month for Mena professionals. Not only do they reflect on their personal, spiritual, and professional life, they also become more focused and productive,” said Ola Haddad, Director of Human Resources at Bayt.com. 
 
“Our new poll shows that many professionals find Ramadan a better time to put their career plans into action. With thousands of jobs available on Bayt.com on any given day, we ensure that we support all job seekers with their professional goals during the holy month.”
 
When asked to share their favourite aspects about Ramadan, more than a quarter (29%) of Mena respondents said that practicing religious and spiritual life is their favourite aspect. Respondents also enjoy gathering with friends and family (10%), and slowing down and enjoying the quiet time (4%).
 
Interestingly, 16% agree with the statement that Ramadan is a good time to focus on their professional goals and 41% said that they enjoy all aforementioned aspects of Ramadan.
When it comes to lifestyle habits during Ramadan, 81% of respondents said that they adopt a healthier lifestyle.
 
In addition, 55% of Mena respondents agree that their company increases charitable activities during the holy month and 15% say they stay the same.
 
Data for ‘Ramadan in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll was collected online from March 19, 2020 to May 3, 2020. Results are based on a sample of 2487 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, and others. -- Tradearabia News Service
