MANAMA, October 13, 2020

Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the largest real estate development companies in Bahrain, said it has signed a scholarship collaboration agreement with the American University of Bahrain (AUBH).

The first comprehensive, purpose-built, American-style co-educational university in Bahrain, AUBH is supported through the Mumtalakat portfolio.

The university offers a holistic journey for students and unique approach to education that fosters interaction and collaboration between students, faculty, and the professional community.

With its STEM-based model, AUBH quality of American-style education mirrors that of the best universities in the United States. The University’s unique academic structure enables students to find their real passions and allows them to develop their abilities, leading to long successful careers in their chosen industry.

Under this scheme, the student will have the right of first refusal interviews with Diyar Al Muharraq upon graduation, said the statement.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Ahmed Ali Alammadi, CEO of Diyar Al Muharraq, and Dr Susan E. Saxton, Founding President of the American University of Bahrain, alongside other officials from both organisations.

Al Ammadi said: "Diyar Al Muharraq is honoured to support this initiative which falls within the framework of our organization’s social responsibility efforts."

"Our partnership with the American University of Bahrain will enable us to contribute towards the advancement of the higher education sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and further support students who seek to further their academic ambitions. We look forward to future collaborations with this esteemed university," he added.

Dr Saxton said: "We are thrilled to welcome a prestigious company such as Diyar Al Muharraq as a scholarship sponsor. As part of our mission to provide high-quality education in the kingdom, we believe that this opportunity will pave the way for future success by providing invaluable learning opportunities."

The Diyar Al Muharraq delegates were joined by Dr Saxton on a tour around the University’s purpose-built campus, which extends over an area of 75,000 sq m.

The university faculty and staff members were later introduced to the Diyar representatives and discussed future joint ventures between both parties.
