EWA Tech Greece, a developer of novel technologies in the fields of alternative energy and water sources, said it has received several orders from big plants in the UAE and the mediterranean countries for extraction of water from air.

The company said it plans to operate more than 50 water plants with a total water production of 1,000 m³ daily by the end of this year.

The uniqueness of the EWA technology as alternative water source is mainly that this water plant does not need any infrastructure or water source other than air humidity and can benefit from renewable energy source, including solar, said a company statement.

This innovative technology was presented by EWA Tech Greece, together with ApolloTech, at a February conference in Athens.

The company, recently collaborated with the Municipality of Hydra Island in Greece to set up a pilot unit for the Extraction of ater from Air.

The current severe water shortage resulting from global worming and global drought, the difficulty and expensive water transportation by ships and the continuous evidences regarding polluted water, forced the members of the Hydar Municipal Council to seek for new innovative options, so resolve the problem of water shortage, particularly in the intense summer months, the statement added.-TradeArabia News Service
