Al Fara'a Construction Group, a leading fully integrated construction services company, hosted an intensive Aids awareness workshop at the Le Grand Château construction site in Jumeirah Village.
This is in line with the developer’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, which focuses on addressing global health related issues through alliances with relevant government and international institutions.
Organised in collaboration with the Dubai Police, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs (PCLA), the seminar disseminated preventive information regarding Aids and the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) to over 150 labourers at the site.
The seminar was highlighted by a lecture delivered by head of section, Specialist Pathologist, Dubai Police, Dr Anjali Gupta, who discussed up-to-date Aids and HIV facts and figures such as its alarming growth rate all over the world, its origin, how it can be transferred and how awareness can be the most effective protection against the virus.
Also present at the seminar were senior Al Fara’a Group officials, including group director, HR and administration, Amr Al Banna, and area manager (Dubai), Al Fara'a General Contracting Co. (LLC), Ismail Mohammad along with head of clinic and community health section, Public Health Department and a member of the PCLA, Zohoor Hussain Al Sabbagh.
As part of the group’s initiatives to improve the welfare of its employees, Al Fara’a has launched this campaign to trigger the sense of responsibility of its people in protecting themselves against the virus. – TradeArabia News Service
