Honour for top medical researchers
Manama

Top medical researchers and writers are to be honoured at a ceremony sponsored by Kuwait Finance House - Bahrain (KFH-Bahrain) in Manama next month.

The Dr Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa Prize for Medical Research award ceremony will be held at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel Residence & Spa, on April 10.

The prize aims to honour the winners who produced the best medical research, published in the Bahrain Medical Bulletin last year.

The ceremony will be attended by recognised pioneers in the field of medicine in Bahrain and the region.

Bahrain Medical Bulletin founder and chief editor Dr Jaffar Al Bareeq said the prize was established to encourage health and medical research in Bahrain and the Arab world.

"The idea is to recognise the doctors and researchers who have contributed highly in raising the level of health and medical services through their research," he added.

"Award winners were selected by a distinguished jury including the elite of senior doctors and specialists in Bahrain."

KFH- Bahrain general manager Abdulhakeem Alkhayyat said the firm had adopted the culture of honour and appreciation of the distinguished and high achievers in all fields with the focus on the medical and educational sectors.

"Over the past few months we honoured many physicians who obtained high specialised qualifications, from Bahrain Medical Society, Bahrain Dental Society and doctors of the BDF Hospital," he said.

"The new initiative is a step to appreciate the researchers who have contributed in uplifting the medical field in Bahrain and also to encourage young doctors to advance further in the scientific research field.

"I thank Defence Minister Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa for his support and sponsorship of this award and to the Bahrain Medical Bulletin for this pioneering initiative to promote research in the Arab world."-Traderabia News Service
