Top knee and ankle surgeon in Muscat
Muscat

Well-known knee and ankle surgeon specialist Dr Jean Marc Meyer is back in Muscat Private Hospital for consultation between May 6- May 22, 2008.

Dr Meyer, the president of the Swiss Foot and Ankle Association and president of the Orthopaedic Association, will be available for consultation from May 6-22, 2008, the hospital said.

Dr Meyer, who is recognised as an international expert in the treatment of foot and ankle sports injuries will treat patients in the correction of deformities, osteoarthritis of the foot, foot and ankle sports injuries, flat foot and heel pain.

He has gained expertise in his speciality as the head of the Foot and Ankle Department at the Geneva University Hospital where he continues to be an associate professor.

“Oman’s passion for football for example, often leads to football-trauma which is a common phenomenon that can dislocate a joint, fracture a bone, stretch or tear ligaments, or strain muscles and tendons,” said Dr Meyer

“Likewise, sprained ankles are another common injury, with athletes who jump, risking ankle sprains because they can accidentally land on the side of their foot. Extensive running, exercise, or training too, can also overstress the ligaments, leading to injury, even among women.”

“Having such a reputed Consultant with such an extensive clinical experience visiting Muscat Private Hospital provides an excellent opportunity to the people in Oman to access an internationally renowned expert that would otherwise mean them travelling to Europe,” said Muscat Private Hospital director Gerard Strong.

“Over the time that he has been visiting the sultanate, Dr Meyer has come to gain a very good understanding of the types of clinical conditions and the types of injury in Oman, which only benefits his patients” he said. – TradeArabia News Service
