Dubai to host anti-ageing congress
Dubai

Dubai is set to host an anti-ageing congress to discover the elixir of youth, the organisers said in a statement.

November’s Dubai Congress on Anti-Ageing & Aesthetic Medicine (DCAAAM) – in association with the American Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine (A4M) and organisers Tarsus – will bring together a global network of scientists and physicians to address the needs of 450 million baby boomers worldwide seeking to retain their youth and maintain health, they added.

The American Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine has a membership of more than 20,000 physicians and scientists from 90 countries, and has pioneered the establishment of anti-aging medicine as a recognised medical speciality.  Besides managing 13 anti-ageing events worldwide, Tarsus owns the internationally-renowned Dubai Air Show.

The premiere Dubai Congress will join an already established network of anti-ageing events including Las Vegas, Singapore, Tokyo, Germany, China and Mumbai.

With Dubai’s burgeoning healthcare market projected to rise from $3.2 billion in 2005 to $11.9 billion in 2015, anti-aging medicine will be at the forefront of the services offered by medical practices and clinics throughout the region.

“In 2007, anti-aging was worth $88.9 billion worldwide and is one of the biggest market opportunities today. It shows a phenomenal average annual growth rate of 9.5 per cent and is due to rise to $150 billion by 2013,” said Tarsus project director Matt Thompson.

“DCAAAM will be an exceptional event for healthcare professionals to learn more about the latest innovations and treatment solutions to prevent and even reverse the signs of aging and degeneration.”

Anti-ageing medicine is a serious medical specialty founded on the application of advanced scientific and medical technologies for the early detection, prevention, treatment and reversal of age-related dysfunction, disorders and diseases.

The Dubai congress will bring together more than 70 renowned international speakers who will present the latest scientific research on a wide range of anti-ageing topics.

These will include: cosmetic, laser and plastic surgery; aesthetic procedures; bio-identical hormone replacement therapy; medical weight loss and nutrition; mesotherapy and facial rejuvenation; and stem cell therapies and treatment.

A comprehensive exhibition will be held alongside the conference devoted to showcasing the latest industry-related products, services and treatments.

The congress will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from November 7-9, the organisers said. – TradeArabia News Service
