2,000 take part in specialist healthcare conference
Abu Dhabi
 

More than 2000 medical professionals from across the Middle East participtaed in a three-day specialist healthcare conference at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The conference, presented by more than 180 internationally recognised speakers covering dozens of topics in patient safety, medical emergencies and primary healthcare, are part of the second Abu Dhabi Medical Congress.

Delegates included doctors, nurses, clinicians, paramedics, medical technicians and health administrators.

The congress also featured leading international and regional exhibitor companies from more than 20 countries.

'This year's congress has been a tremendous success not only in terms of the record numbers taking part in the conferences which have been sold out but also the wide range of diagnostic products, equipment and services on show to visitors to the exhibition,' said Simon Page, director of the Life Science Division at IIR Middle East, organiser of the congress.

'The three-in-one event has brought together those directly involved in the healthcare professions from medical to administrative staff and policy makers under one roof in a stimulating environment.'

The region's next big healthcare event takes place in Dubai. The Healthcare Travel Exhibition and Congress – at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai, from November 2 to 4, 2008 - brings together decision makers with payees of medical travel, specialised medical suppliers, travel providers, medical facilities and representatives of major destinations.

Participating countries include: Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Cyprus, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, India, France, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, United States, Canada, Turkey and Pakistan.

Healthcare Travel, also organised by IIR Middle East, is in association with the International Medical Travel Association.
