MPH conducts first cardiac surgery

Muscat, May 20, 2009

Muscat Private Hospital (MPH) became the first private hospital in Oman to conduct cardiac surgery recently.

The Cardiac Surgery Programme at MPH aims at surgical correction of all types of cardiac disorders, and offers an extensive range of cardiac services.

The many cardiac services here range from coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, major blood vessel diseases, and surgical correction of congenital heart malformations. Thoraric and lung surgeries can also be performed.

“It has always been our vision and goal to deliver a high quality of care to our cardiac surgical patients,” said Gary Dorahy, country manager - OMPC and hospital director - MPH.

“Our cardiac surgery program is the first in the private sector to be approved by the Ministry of Health,” informed Gary.

At the open evening held recently, the guests were given a tour of the entire facility. MPH boasts the latest equipment to ensure successful surgery and post surgical recovery, and a 24-hour Critical Care Service that is available both before and after surgery, he added.

Muscat Private Hospital is Muscat’s premier private medical facility. The hospital provides out-patient and in-patient facilities and all the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of an acute care hospital, including CT and MRI.

The hospital is managed by UME Group, an international hospital management group with more than 28 years experience in the Middle East and the UK.-TradeArabia News Service
