Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has signed a deal to develop the National Centre for Tumors in Yemen on behalf of Abu Dhabi Government.

The project, which is being financed through an Abu Dhabi Government grant worth Dh19.5 million ($5.3 million), covers purchase of state-of-the-art X-ray units, diagnostic apparatus and laboratory facilities, and construction of in-patient facilities, waiting rooms and transportation amenities. The contract also covers establishment of new medical facilities within the centre.

Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, acting director general of ADFD, and Facilious Antonios, general manager of Abu Dhabi International Medical Services - the main contractor of the project – signed the deal at a ceremony held at ADFD’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

'The National Centre for Tumors project is one of the leading medical initiatives aimed at enhancing the level of medical services offered for people in Yemen. It puts in place sophisticated equipment that allows practitioners with highly accurate treatment procedures and more precise results,” Al Suwaidi said.
