City Hospital completes 2 years at DHCC

Dubai, October 25, 2010

The City Hospital, one of the region’s leading healthcare providers located within the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC)  healthcare free zone, has completed two successful years.

Since the 210-bed hospital opened its doors on October 22, 2008, it has treated more than 200,000 patients, performed more than 6,000 surgeries and delivered over 1,600 babies, a statement said.

The City Hospital is a strategic part of the EHL Management Services portfolio - a joint venture between the South African private hospital group Medi-Clinic, the Dubai-based Varkey Group and General Electric.

“I congratulate The City Hospital for completing two successful years that have proved a testimony to its pursuit of excellence,” said Dr Ayesha Abdullah, managing director of Tecom Investments’ Sciences Cluster and executive director of DHCC.

“Within a short time span, the hospital has demonstrated outstanding commitment in achieving the JCI accreditation – the international benchmark for hospital quality standards,” she added.

Dr Tarek Fathey, director, The City Hospital, said: “This special occasion provides me with an opportunity to express my gratitude to all the staff, medical professionals, customers and partners who have contributed significantly towards our success with their genuine commitment.”

“Since the time we started on this journey two years ago, we have handled an incredible volume of work that demonstrates our strength and ensured this success. It is also extraordinary that we have consistently received positive client and employee feedback regardless of the enormity of any responsibility we have undertaken, signalling a good beginning for all of us connected with The City Hospital,” Dr Fathey added. – TradeArabia News Service
