Abu Dhabi Festival highlights green issues
Abu Dhabi, March 13, 2012
The Abu Dhabi Festival, now in its ninth edition, held a community programme at the Manar Al Eman Charity School in Ajman, highlighting hygiene, safety and environmental awareness through drama and art.
The workshop ‘Al Manar Goes Green!’ was brought to life through the use of role-play and the use of recycled materials.
Hoda Al Khamis Kanoo, founder and artistic director of the Abu Dhabi Festival, said: “The Festival’s Community Programme is guided by Bilad Al Khayr – ‘he Land of Blessings, central to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed.”
“Initiatives such as ‘Al Manar Goes Green!’ bring this theme to life and support the Festival as it delivers against its commitment to providing access to the arts for all and providing engaging and interactive opportunities to learn through cultural expression.”
Between March 11 and April 5, the Abu Dhabi Festival’s Community Programme will engage social partners and community groups across the seven Emirates. – TradeArabia News Service
