“Over the years Middle East has witnessed a huge demand for bariatric surgeries and I am happy to train the doctors in the Middle East with the new techniques and procedures and educate the masses by providing them with the necessary viable solutions on all related surgical procedures.”

For the first time in the Middle East and out of the US, Maestro is revealed specially for those having diabetes and blood pressure in addition to weight loss which is revolutionary as Kuwait ranks No.2 in the region for obesity and No.3 in the region for diabetes.

Dr Khaled Al Sharaf, consultant in obesity surgery at Mubarak Al Kabeer said: “Obesity surgery has been widespread in Kuwait and the most famous have been the sleeve gasterectomy and gastric bypass.”

“Many patients showed concerns before the operation and looked for alternative remedies, which encouraged a lot of doctors to look for more developed techniques which are less dangerous but achieve the same results.”

VBloc Maestro is a first-in class weight loss treatment offers patients a less invasive alternative to existing surgical weight loss procedures that may present significant risks and alter digestive system anatomy, lifestyle and food choices, the statement said.

VBloc Therapy is delivered via the Maestro System through laparoscopically implanted leads to intermittently block the vagus nerves using high-frequency, low-energy electrical impulses. It is designed to target the multiple digestive functions under control of the vagus nerves and to affect the perception of hunger and fullness. – TradeArabia News Service
