Dubai plans retirement medical homes

Abu Dhabi, January 27, 2014

Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), a provider of quality healthcare, plans to build retirement homes that will offer full-time medical care for all, including expatriates, a report said.

Housing options include independent retirement homes, assisted living homes and nursing homes, the Gulf News quoted Marwan Abdin, chief executive officer of DHCC as saying, citing WAM, the Emirates News Agency.

The homes will be located at the Continuing Care Retirement Community and medical care will be provided by specialists, the report quoted Abdin.

A 400-bed medical teaching college is also included in the plan, according to Abdin, the report said.
