German hygiene institute opens at DuBiotech

Dubai, January 29, 2014

Dr Brill and Partner, a German-based institute for hygiene and microbiology, has opened its first Middle East operating subsidiary at the DuBiotech, a Dubai-based biotechnology and research park.

The group will provide the region with high-quality hygiene and microbiology consulting, training and laboratory services to assist the government’s drive to place public health and safety at the top of its priorities, said a statement.

The move was announced on the side lines of the ongoing Arab Health 2014 in Dubai.

Dr Florian HH Brill, owner and managing director, said: “The Middle Eastern region has significant potential for developing a thriving health and life science sector. There is high demand for quality healthcare due to the prevalence of diseases specific to the region such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

“We focus on delivering qualitative consulting and training services with the aim of establishing the necessary healthcare standards specialised in infection prevention and control. This is of upmost importance in order to provide the rising population with a world class healthcare system. Therefore, we have established an ‘Infection Control Accreditation Program,’ which is designed for the region’s healthcare facilities such as hospitals, dental and veterinary clinics.

Marwan Abdulaziz, executive director, Tecom Investment’s DuBiotech, said: “It is very important to have well-established health and safety programmes and certification in place for patient’s safety." - TradeArabia News Service
