500 people get cancer every year in Bahrain

An average of 500 people are diagnosed with cancer every year in Bahrain.

Salmaniya Medical Complex hereditary diseases and tumours department chief Dr Fareed Khalifa has released the alarming figures as Bahrain joins other countries in marking World Cancer Day, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The World Health Organisation’s cancer agency warns there will be 22 million new cases of cancer every year within the next two decades. - TradeArabia News Service
