Bee’ah inks recycling deal with UAE fitness centre

Sharjah-based Bee’ah, a leading and award-winning integrated environmental and waste management company, has signed a deal with the top fitness centre Crossfit Hour to implement recycling at its facility.

The MoU aims to strengthen and improve collaborations between Bee’ah and businesses in Sharjah to further cement the business community's commitment in ensuring a greener and more environmentally-sustainable future in Sharjah, said the company.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bee’ah will be providing Crossfit Hour with arrangements for the collection and recycling of waste across all of the fitness centre’s premises. All plastic bottles used at every Crossfit Hour centre in the emirate will be recycled.

As per statistics of Crossfit Hour centres, the average number of plastic bottles used on an annual basis – across all its locations – totals 54,000 PET water bottles.

The objective of this initiative is to encourage the adoption of sustainable business practises – in conformity with the UAE law – and foster greater environmental knowledge among Sharjah businesses.

The agreement was drawn up in line with Bee’ah’s goal to reduce, re-use, and recycle waste in Sharjah while enhancing the residential and business community awareness and environemtnal engagement levels, said Bee’ah CEO Khaled Al Huraimel after signing the agreement.

It was attended by Saif Abdulla Al Sahrif, the director of recycling collection & business operations at Bee'ah along with Crossfit Hour owner Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh and partner Majed Juma Al Musharrkh.

“We are so proud to be joining forces with Crossfit Hour, an industry leader in the realms of health, fitness and wellness,” said Al Sharif. “At Bee’ah, we have long believed in the power of every individual taking action, and we see this as a commendable step that Crossfit Hour are taking in their journey of environmental commitment towatds a greener UAE,” he added.

Al Musharrkh said this new partnership was formed to raise environmental awareness amongst its staff and members and will provide a sustainable edge to Crossfit Hour centres in Sharjah.
