Mers death toll in UAE 10: Minister

Abu Dhabi, June 4, 2014

The Middle East respiratory syndrome (Mers) coronavirus has killed at least 10 people in the UAE since March last year, the UAE health minister was quoted as saying.

The virus has infected a total of 68 people so far, a Gulf News report said quoting Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais.

He allayed concerns about the virus saying the Health Ministry continued surveillance for severe acute respiratory infections and carefully reviewed any unusual patterns, Al Owais told the Federal National Council (FNC).
