Healthcare R&D opportunities in focus at US forum

Healthcare competitiveness and opportunities for research and development in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) will be the focus of discussion at a forum in the US this week.
 
The BIO International Convention (BIO 2014) is set to be held from June 23 to 26 in San Diego, California.
 
The panel discussion titled ‘Healthcare Competitiveness and New Opportunities for R& D in the Middle East and North Africa’ will be held on June 25 as part of the Emerging Opportunities in Global Markets Forum.
 
The discussion will feature Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, executive director of Tecom Investments’ Science Cluster in Dubai.
 
His presentation will focus on increasing emphasis on healthcare by governments and growing business opportunities throughout Mena; importance of R&D in the region; and recent enhancements for R&D in specific countries Tecom Investments’ Science Cluster provides access to peer companies and regulators, significant industry knowledge and real estate platform for life science and sustainability businesses looking to set up operations or expand their present in the region.
 
The Tecom Investments’ Science Cluster comprises DuBiotech, a free zone business park dedicated to fostering the growth of the life sciences industry and EnPark, a place designed to drive the growth of the alternative energy and environmental industry in the Mena region.
 
The BIO International Convention is hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organisation (BIO), which represent more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centres and related organisations across the US and in more than 30 other nations.
