US to build $1.7bn military hospital in Kuwait

The US government has announced plans to build a new military hospital in Kuwait at a cost of $1.7 billion, said the Defense Security Co-operation Agency (DSCA), the arm of the Pentagon that manages foreign military sales.
The US Army Corps of Engineers would oversee the effort and provide project management, engineering, planning, design, acquisition, contract administration, construction management and other technical services for construction of facilities and infrastructure for the upcoming Kuwait Armed Forces Hospital, according to the DSCA.
The infrastructure project also includes a new utilities plant, access roads to the new complex to the existing Armed Forces Hospital, said the DSCA in its statement.
“The facility scope of work is similar to other facilities built in the past by the US Army Corps of Engineers in other Middle Eastern countries,” it added.-TradeArabia News Service
